Lucia Iman Tames the Night

September 4th, 2010 Wolfman No comments

Music Connection, one of the most respected musician’s trade magazines in the music industry, included Lucia Iman among their picks for the top 100 unsigned artists of 2007 and 2009.  I can think of 903 fans who would agree…as they funded her $50,000 Sellaband project to produce her recently released album, “Tame the Night“.  Although I was not one of her investors, I was lucky enough to purchase her album from someone who had multiple copies and now I understand why she was selected for the top 100 unsigned artists.

Lucia Iman’s smooth and soothing vocals will unlock your imagination in ways you never anticipated; in fact, you may have heard her music as a soundtrack in one of many films.

Lille :: The Traveling Girl

September 4th, 2010 Wolfman No comments

Music is an International Language without boundaries and understood by all.  Considering how music touches everyone, in every country, around the planet, it seemed important to introduce the readers to a wonderful artist from the Netherlands.  Lille Mulder recently completed her limited edition album “Traveling Girl“, which was an International collaboration of musicians, lyric editors, pronunciation advisers, producers, and backing vocalists from the Netherlands, USA, UK, and Poland.  Vocal Coach, Pete Strobl, wrote:

Traveling Girl” is a journey of self- realization. Listen as she looks deep within herself, examines her fears and questions her courage.

From the hard edge of No Mercy Blues to the heartfelt vulnerability of The Last Goodbye, Traveling Girl isn’t shy.  She says aloud what others only think and lives the life others may only dream about.”

50K Music Launches The 50K MUSIC Squad

May 31st, 2010 Wolfman No comments

Independent Artists…their music is their own. No labels dictating their sound or their lyrics. The music they produce, comes from within…it’s their being, their soul.

They bring us some of the best music on the planet and they do it not for money or fame, but because it is what they love and wish to share.  So when others find time to support and help them, it’s a gift that keeps giving.

The 50K Music Magazine has started a special project to help promote independent musicians – The 50K MUSIC Squad.  Much like “The Pack“, The 50K MUSIC Squad will promote indie artists comprising a wide range of genres.  The artists in the 50K MUSIC Squad represent Kompis’ favorite music and I am thrilled to see that he has included our own Fleur Jack!

Kompis will focus on helping the members with their album-raising projects on Sellaband, AKA Music, and other sites.  He will also run special promotional activities on social networking sites such as Facebook, and will create profiles for each member on the 50K Music Magazine web site.

This is a wonderful idea and I am happy to see independent artists getting his promotional help.  I encourage all to visit his site and meet the 50K MUSIC Squad!

Cheers!

The Celeste Express is Back On Track!

May 29th, 2010 Wolfman No comments

A group of people from around the world showed Celeste the ultimate support.  We combined our funds to finance her album and we’re cutting out the middle men in the process…it’s much better this way!

After weathering the Sellaband bankruptcy turmoil earlier this year…Celeste decided it would be better to remove crowd sourcing sites from the equation and her biggest fans and supporters saw it the same way.

DJ Legi, Wolfman, Teddy Bear, J-L, MDWH, Wilks, and others have raised Celeste’s funding to over $12,500 USD and soon, she’ll have the necessary cash to put those world-class vocals to work!

If you haven’t heard her music, you can hear it here on “The Pack’s” music player, as well as her web site.

We would love to see others jump in and share the joy…this lady knows how to ROCK THE HOUSE!!

Check her out:  http://celestenow.com/

Tula, our Belgian Rock Godess, has been invited by radio station RNC (Radio Noise Corporation) Belgium to participate in their indie top 10 contest

She needs as many people as possible vote for her by clicking the “+1 point” button or if you really want to help, you can give her +5 or +10 points , but that costs money.  Your support would mean so much to Tula and if she finishes the week with the most points,

  • Her song, “My Music My Drug” will air five times each day the following week (Monday-Sunday 0:01 23h59), and
  • If.she is ranked in the top 10, her music will be included in the RNC playlist for three months.

Please join me and vote for her every 15 minutes.

Celeste’s “Call You Up” video is helping to promote Austism Awareness

April 18th, 2010 Wolfman No comments

Sharethemic.com is currently running a contest named, “everybody WINS” to help raise awareness and donations for Autism Speaks.  This week, Celeste’sCall You Up” video is being matched against Adam 812’s “Mystery Girl” video.  If you’re not familiar with “Share The Mic“, their purpose is to sign up Premier Emerging Artists and Partner them with an organization benefiting a particular cause.

Celeste has an absolutely incredible video to compliment “Call You Up“, which is one of my personal favorites.  Please stop by “Share The Mic” and check out her video; and if you like it, please cast your vote for her.  She could use the votes!  I’ve already cast mine!  Here is the address:

Aryn Michelle – The 45th Sellaband Recording Artist!

March 6th, 2010 Wolfman No comments

After 11 days chock full of uncertainty about the direction of Sellaband.com, Aryn Michelle’s fans and believers from around the world propelled her to the $50,000 recording budget!

Since joining Sellaband on April 12, 2008, Aryn Michelle has  consistently pursued her goal and on March 2, Aryn’s believers began investing in her project at supersonic speeds, as she raised that last $10,000 in just 4 days!

As a proud member of “The Pack“, Aryn has been an anchor who consistently demonstrated the highest level of professionalism and always pushed the envelope…venturing out and bringing new sounds to her music with each new release.

As one of her 354 investors, I am proud to have supported Aryn and look forward to her next album!  In honor of Aryn’s well-deserved and remarkable achievement, I put together a video celebrating this special moment.  Enjoy!

Sellaband Under New Ownership

February 24th, 2010 Wolfman 1 comment

In what could best be described as two of the most stressful days for thousands of investors and musicians,  has finally ended on a very positive note!  Sellaband.com declared bankruptcy on Monday, February 22; but just two days later, a new and promising light was cast on this uncertain and dark news.

Michael Bogatzki, the new CEO of SellaBand GmbH, released this statement today on the Sellaband website:

We will continue to advance this fantastic platform while acting in the spirit of the SellaBand community and its founders. We are thankful for the exceptional work of Johan Vosmeijer and his wishes.

Starting from today we proceed with this unique concept and maximize the potential of SellaBand with the trust and faith of all Artists and Believers. In personal I am proud to be part of this idea and I am aware of my responsibility for done work and successes. I will take care about the community and spirit of sellaband.com with your help and confidence.

Best regards,
Michael Bogatzki
Munich, February 24.2010

Personally, I have just gone from a very low place to an elevated one full of hope as we pursue a new beginning.  First and foremost…I would like to extend a HUGE Thank You and a very warm Welcome to Michael Bogatzki!  These past few days have been some of the most difficult I can remember.

As a believer, I was upset not for myself, but for the artists I have supported these past two years, also known as “The Pack“.  Like so many artists on Sellaband, they have put forth an incredible amount of energy towards their projects and to wake up one day and see all that hard work just disappear…was one of the most gut-wrenching feelings I have ever experienced.  Yes, they too were upset, but in spite of all this uncertainty, “The Pack” pulled together and supported each other!  And now with this new beginning…they will emerge even stronger!

I’ve said this time and time again…the artists in “The Pack” are some of the best I have ever heard…and on top of that, they work their tails off…each and every day!  They never stop and as their friend and loyal supporter, I will not stop either.  I think they all know that I’m not going anywhere; instead, I will keep pushing ahead, working harder and harder to help all of them reach their dream of raising the necessary funds to produce a world-class CD.

This mess was not their fault and I am concerned that many believers will be pulling back their support because of the Sellaband website failures and the bankruptcy.  I urge all of their believers to please take a deep breath and give Mr. Bogatzki a chance to “right the ship“.  He obviously believes in the Sellaband concept…otherwise, why would he put his reputation and money on the line?  I am very optimistic this is going to be the beginning of the potential this site has always been capable of reaching.  Not to mention, we’ve developed one incredible family within Sellaband!

Sure there are those who weren’t happy with things lately, but so many of us stuck it out and didn’t leave.  There’s a reason for that…and it all revolves around our love for music, the musicians we support, and the opportunity to be a part of something that no amount of money could ever buy…the chance to make a difference in someone’s life.  I love the artists I support and I have enjoyed watching each and every one of them grow their talent and their fan base…not to mention witnessing each of them blossom into the artists they are today!  I will never abandon them…they will always have my unwavering support and I hope the rest of the believers on this wonderful site feel the same about the artists they support.  We are all pioneers in this venture…I am looking forward to continuing the dream!

The $50K Music Magazine is Featuring 4 Pack Artists!

February 22nd, 2010 Wolfman No comments

The February 2010 issue of the $50K Music Magazine is featuring articles about Angie Arsenault, Gisel de Marco, LeeAnn Casey, and Lindy Waldeck.  Angie Arsenault is gracing the cover this month with a wonderful picture taken from her “Once Upon a Dream” album and the write-up about her is a very insightful piece about her musical journey, news about her album, and her current fund raising project on Sellaband.

Gisel summarizes everything that has happened since she hit her budget goal and when we can expect to receive her debut album.  You can feel the excitement and energy in Gisel’s answers.

LeeAnn talks about how her short time on Sellaband has been an uplifting experience, a little bit about her background, and some insight in to the studio she will be recording her debut album in.

In Lindy Waldeck ’s article, she explains how she was drawn in to music and some insight into her fund-raising experience for her upcoming Jazz (and more) album financed by believers from Sellaband.

All of the articles are nicely written and you will learn a lot about each of these artists.  I encourage you to read it, if you haven’t already.

Cheers!
