Fleur Jack

Now that she finished her National New Zealand Tour, I thought it would be nice to introduce the newest member of “The Pack”…Fleur Jack. Like so many artists, Fleur’s interest with music began at an early age, when she wrote her first song at the tender age of 8 and started seriously composing when she was in her teenage years. Over the years, Fleur has played music throughout New Zealand, Australia, Hong Kong, and Canada. Currently, she plays with two bands: Pavlova and The Jandals and The Twitch. She also hosts a Radio Show on Kiwi FM and you can hear her 5 days/week, from 7 PM to 9 PM.
While attending music school, Fleur met guitartist Jesus Raine and drummer Josh Crowther and together, they formed the 3-Piece band, “The Twitch”. Fleur is the Frontwoman and Bass Player. They just finished a 9-day New Zealand tour at the end of March to promote their 2nd album, “Time for Change”.
Combining alt-country, pop, folk, and rock, “Pavlova and The Jandals” is a collaborative project between five prolific Auckland musicians, all of whom play in other well known bands. “Pavlova and The Jandals” formed during the winter of 2009 and recorded their 14-track album live, over a weekend in The Commune,, located in the wild west of Waitakere. Featuring Fleur Jack, Chris Howard (The Sproutts), Simon Ross (Yebiisu, We Dunno), Joel Vinsen (Black Sand Diva), and Todd Beeby (Kitsch, Dr Colossus, Coach), Pavlova and the Jandals has a diverse and distinctly Kiwi flavour.
With four songwriters, and a wide pool of experience and style, Pavlova and the Jandals delivers a vibrant and original show, as the band members swap instruments between sets, while laughing and generally keeping it tight and heavily entertaining. Their sound has been described as “It’ll wash, you dry”; but they might descibe it as, “deep, snappy, and fluid dynamism”. Their Auckland shows have been so successful and popular, they decided to take it on the road to the rest of New Zealand. They just wrapped up a very successful tour last last month, promoting their self titled album, “Pavlova and The Jandals”.

“My Friends” is a wonderfully upbeat song about loving all your friends, even if they’re passed out in the corner. Although that may seem a bit harsh make them out to be way worse than they really are, the message is what’s important here…you should love your friends as they are…even when their having a bad moment! I think this song showcases Fleur’s very unique sound, as well as her pleasantly appealing vocals.
Fleur’s biggest dream is to record a solo album that will showcase her songwriting style and say something about the world that people can relate to, believe in and love. I am proud to support this latest Kiwi Pack Artist and I hope you will too.
