Lindy Waldeck

Lindy Waldeck

I use the tag “Jazz&More” as that perfectly describes what my music is, I guess. I like jazz, but I also like rock, blues, pop, classical music, basically any tune that moves me one way or another.

Music has been in my head for all my life, my own words and melodies just waiting in line to come out. But only recently I discovered ways of getting them out and turn them into real sound someone else can listen to and – hopefully – enjoy. The styles are diverse, but for some reason there always seems to be a jazzy touch or a bluesy note, hence the Jazz & More reference.

Jazz&More is also the name of my band. We mainly play covers at the moment, lots of good old Jazz standards, next to more recent easy listening and pop music, from Ella Fitzgerald to Donna Summer to Tina Turner and Amy Winehouse. We are just beginning to put some of my own songs on the repertoire, but we’re not ready to perform them yet.

The songs in my playlist here (and the ones on MySpace) are all home recorded. No fancy mixing or mastering, as I couldn’t find anyone that would do that for me free of charge :) And that’s where Sellaband comes in, as it’s been my life long dream to get a CD out. And with help of friends, family and SAB’s believers in me, I hope to make that dream come true and record my songs in a professional way to take them to the next level, put them on a disc which hopefully then will find it’s way to the music lovers!

“Just in Case” you haven’t noticed…I am a BIG fan of “The Pack” and it seems fitting to share my thoughts about Lindy Waldeck’s song…”Just in Case

If you visit Lindy’s site, you’ll notice it reads, “Jazz and More”.  Well, this song is the “..and more” part.  I LOVE the way this song begins…with the cow bell and the harmonious piano chords…and then Lindy’s wonderfully soothing vocals.  “Just In Case” blends a little bit of Jazz with the …”and more” part so perfectly!  The simplicity of this song is what really draws me in…

Lindy wrote “Just In Case” for her daughter when she was travelling a lot for work and was often away from home for many days at a time.  The love Lindy has for her daughter comes through in her lyrics so beautifully as she reassures her daughter that she’ll be home soon.  I may be wrong in my interpretation, but to me, the cow bell represents the ticking of the clock…as time passes and her return gets closer and closer.  I made sure Lindy understood that when she reaches her budget goal, this is one song I hope she selects for the album.  I think she agrees!

Lindy brings the Jazz element to “The Pack“, something to balance out the wide genre of music you will find on their music player.   She is currently raising money to fund her album on Sellaband and if you enjoy her music, please join me as one of her believers and become an important part of her debut album.  Right now, Lindy has some exciting incentives for all those who jump on board and support her project.  It’s deinitely worth your time!
